LAUSD Summer of Joy

Children Mending Hearts has been approved for LAUSD’s 2024 Summer of Joy Enhancement Programming. During the summer, we will work at LAUSD schools, running our educational programs with their students and bringing our special blend of empathy and education to these classrooms.

Our hardworking Executive Director, Siobhain Hill, was invited to present at an event with over 1,700 LAUSD teachers and administrators in attendance.

She was able to share with them why EMPATHY is an educator’s SUPERPOWER. This includes statistics as to why empathy and social emotional learning matter, techniques to use in the classroom, and stories that connect to the lesson.
